FY 24/25 Faculty & Staff Fringe Benefit Rates Are Now in KR

FY 24/25 fringe benefit rates for faculty, academic staff, and regular staff have been updated in Kuali Research. This change updated the following:

  • Incorporated the FY24/25 health rates and inflation factor (see the Controller's office memo for reference).
  • Updated the FICA salary cap.

To sync the rates in your KR budget, we recommend that you click the Sync All Rates button at the top of the Rates option.

New Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Column in COI Table

A new column labeled Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program has been added to the COI Disclosure Information table in Kuali Research. This column pulls information from a question in the person’s Annual Conflict of Interest disclosure and displays the answer to the question in the table, which is either Yes or No. If there is no information in this column for an individual, that means they have not updated their Annual COI Disclosure to answer the new Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program question. This new column will be included in the Proposal Development (PD), Institutional Proposal (IP) and Award modules of Kuali Research. The COI Disclosure Information table in the PD document is locked once a PD is approved, however, the IP and Award modules will refresh to pull in updated information from the Kuali COI module.

Inconsistencies in KR Budget Reports

Recently there have been a few instances where the KR PDF Budget Reports weren't displaying the budget numbers accurately. In one example, the fringe benefits reflected as $0 on the KR Budget Report, even though fringe benefits were calculating correctly in the budget module. We have pushed a change to the system and are continuing to monitor this issue. In the meantime, we recommend that before sending a KR Budget Report to the sponsor or PI, please check to make sure the amounts match the budget in KR. If you find an inconsistency on a KR Budget Report, please report it to the KR Helpdesk.
